The 2018 Final Project Release of Department of Accessory and Costume Design in Xiamen University of Technology's New Silk Road School of Fashion--- "First Departure" was convened in 79 Tank of Beijing 751D .PARK at 8 p.m. of May 16th, 2018. 

 

The theme of this release is "First Departure", which means "birth" and "setting off". Graduation is both an end and the initiation for a broader world. The theme expresses the beautiful hopes for students' prosperous future. At the meantime, it is also the first time that Xiamen University of Technology's New Silk Road School of Fashion has struck a pose on the stage of China Graduate Fashion Week. "First Departure" also presents the School's vitality. All of the 75 works presented in the release are designed by 38 graduates of the present year from the Department of Accessory and Costume Design. Young designers boldly break through the professional limitations of apparel and try various techniques of different domains. They explore different techniques of expression from multiple aspects including design, material and craftsmanship, etc., integrate creativity and innovation with serving the fashion industrial development of Xiamen, and present their apperception and consideration in fashion throughout the four years in college, which not only brought up a visual feast for the audience, but demonstrated diversified designing ideology. The works made great breakthroughs with respect to conceptual design, subject presentation, application of fashion elements and conceptual innovation, etc. Students utilized unique techniques of handling and style molding to demonstrate cutting-edge designing concepts; or combined with fashion trend and market requirements to present their intense consciousness of designing for life. The artistic creation of apparel is balanced with practical transformation, which is bestowed with distinctive period feel and makes the audience deeply impressed.
