The 22nd China Fashion Young Talent Award announced

As an important event during China Graduate Fashion Week, the 22nd China Fashion Young Talent Award, organized by China Fashion Association, came to its final round on May 20.

56 sets of design works from 48 colleges and universities were listed to be reviewed in model works, three-dimensional clipping and defenses. Finally, Zhang Mengyun, Qin Tai, Chen Yilin, Liu Jing, Wu Yashuang, Liu Yong, Hao Yuming, Zhao Wanyi, Xu Ting, and Li Zhichao, won the “Young Talent Award”. Yuan Dapeng, Fu Zhichen, Lian Min,Zhuo Kenan, Sun Lin, Sun Ying, Xu Qingqing, Zhao Hui ,Ren Hui, Xu Xiangge won the “Excellent Guide Teacher Award” . the winners of “China Fashion Design Cultivation Award” were School of Fashion, Wuhan Textile University，School of Fashion Management, Jiangxi Institute of Fashion Technology，School of Fashion and Art Engineering, Minjiang University, School Of Design Arts, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, School of Fashion, Dalian Polytechnic University, Technical Institute for the Deaf ,Tianjin University of Technology, Apparel & Art Design College, Xi'an Polytechnic University, School of Industrial Design, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, LuXun Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture & Design，Changchun Institute of Technology.

The selection got support from the national fashion colleges and universities. According to the ratio of the fresh graduates, 98 colleges and universities from 26 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, including Macau, recommended 840 pieces of excellent works. The fresh graduates and postgraduates need to submit the analysis and forecast report on the 2017/2018 A/W fashion trend proposal to the organizing committee, and need to submit the designs of one set of men’s wear and one sets of women’s wear.

It needs to point out that at present our country's textile and apparel industry still is the development structure focusing on intensive business and processing, the limitations and shortcomings of which will emerge with the deepening market opening up. Therefore, only to strengthen the front-end design and after-sale service can the textile and apparel industry be out of the mire and become a textile powerhouse, thus strengthening the talent cultivation and development appears especially important.

China Fashion Association attaches great importance to the talent cultivation and industrial development. For the past 21 years, the China Fashion Young Talent Award has been served as an important platform to cultivate and tap design talent, promote the exchange and improvement of “industry-university-research”, and has  drew attention from the fashion education, apparel industry and fashion media.

By far, more than 300 fashion colleges and universities have recommended the candidates of China Fashion Young Talent Award, with more than 9,600 person-times excellent graduates participating in the process. 740 person-times among them were selected to come to final round after fierce competition. Finally, 184 excellent contestants got the award. Meanwhile, the winners’ universities won the China Fashion Design Cultivation Award and their tutors won the “Excellent Guide Teacher Award”. Thus, the evaluation has been highly valued and won key support from the universities. The promising designers from the winners of China Fashion Young Talent Award, now have gradually become the design backbones of China Fashion industry, including fashion enterprises and junior colleges. They are active in the front of the fashion industry.

   
Founded in 1995, China Fashion Young Talent Award is held annually. Now it is the only professional and national selection for excellent fashion design graduates with most influential and longest history.  It is honored as the micro top ten for selecting design talents in fashion design industry. Different from the usual design contests, it adopts the approach with high-level, wide promotion, collective participation and key recommendation. It is a comprehensive evaluation of the candidates in their design ability and professional basis, and also is a chance for the excellent graduates to show their design strength. Besides, it is a symbol of benchmarking the teaching achievement and teaching capacities of the fashion colleges and universities, a boost to promote the graduates’ employment and start-ups, and a feast of conducting teaching exchange, and promoting the communication between industry and education in fashion design.
