Uphold the pure, be great with inadequacy

on May 18, theCollege of Textile and Garment, Guangzhou University Graduate Show2017 washeld in the Central Hall of 751D PARKin Beijingduring the SHOW TOWN·China Graduate Fashion Week 2017

 21 graduates and 52 sets of excellent works are selected from 200 graduatesas the works for the show. The theme of this year continues to use the last design theme, Surplus·Lack, but the significance is more far-reaching.At the same time, the use of “surplus and lack” to shape the profile is the basic technique of the three-dimensional clipping, so “Surplus·Lack” is important.

The show embraces the beginner’s mind. Some designs use plain white as a background, only with different texture details to increase the sense of hierarchy, and show the other side of the bustling worldwithbig profile. Some designs use primary colors.Light denim fabrics and chameleon green is collocated.Itis seemingly plain, but in fact changes. Some designs usethe intertwined sea blue and night screen purple. The visible firewood color andthe delicate whiteshows a warm light.

Some designs, through the traditional weaving techniques, show a strong national flavor. Some use the ribbon and yarn belt to forma large area of weaving visual effect, together with the accumulation rules, and make clothes more hierarchical.

 Some is inspired by the crafts courses. Leveraging the "Eighteen encrust" of late Qing dynasty, the designers use the fabric recreation technique to add lines on the denim fabric, and adopt geometric splicing techniques to make the fabric change the density of lines, have regular and irregular segmentation, producing the stitches collision. The designs express that the clothes with complicated technologies is based on the straight line, and also can make a lot of changes. One horizontal line and one long string are the essence of technology. The methods may vary, but the principle is the same.

The Surplus ·LackShowis an enterprises cooperative exploration between five men’s wear and women’s wear brands and the traditional clothes has presented the diversity produced by the combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern apparel experimental philosophy to convey theinheritance and innovation of craftsmanship in the new era, and have won the praise from the more than 400 audience, including industry association leaders, students and teachers of colleges and universities, experts and media.

College of Textile and Garment, Guangzhou University is an important representative of textile and apparel colleges in Southern China. It has won more than 300 important awards in various kinds of fashion competitions both at home and abroad. It explores the training mode of "combination of work and study, university-enterprise cooperation and seamless docking”, and insists the motto of "Advocating beauty, self-cultivation, good learning and sincere behavior", to carry out extensive exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign famous universities. Year by year, it has been listed as one of the most famous textile and apparel colleges in China with eye-catching achievements in education. It is the first garment college of Guangdong to hold four sessions of shows in China Graduate Fashion Week.
